Montenegro has designated its third Wetland of International Importance: Ulcinj Salina is the largest salina (saltpan) in the Adriatic.
South Africa has named three new Wetlands of International Importance. It now has 26 “Ramsar Sites”.
Ukraine has named 11 new Wetlands of International Importance (“Ramsar Sites”). It now has 50 in total, covering an area of over 800,000 hectares.
Morocco has designated 12 new Wetlands of International Importance. Their locations range from the heights of the Atlas mountains to the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.
