Premios 2012

El 6 de julio de 2012, cinco personas e instituciones fueron premiadas en la ceremonia de apertura de la 11ª Reunión de la Conferencia de las Partes Contratantes en la Convención de Ramsar sobre los Humedales (COP11 de Ramsar) celebrada en Bucarest (Rumania). Los laureados de 2012 recibieron el trofeo Ramsar creado por la escultora Verena Darmon, ya fallecida, y un certificado.

En su quinta edición, se otorgaron Premios Ramsar en las categorías de Educación, Manejo y Ciencia a Wisconsin Wetlands Association, la Sra. Augusta Henriques y el Profesor Tatsuichi Tsujii, respectivamente. El jurado también otorgó un Premio de Reconocimiento al Logro al Sr. Thymio Papayannis. Por último, dado que 2011 marcaba el 40º aniversario de la firma de la Convención, el Comité Permanente decidió homenajear a uno de los padres fundadores del tratado, el Dr. Luc Hoffmann, con un Premio Ramsar Honorífico del 40º aniversario.

On 6 July 2012, five laureates were honoured at the opening ceremony of the Eleventh Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (COP11), in Bucharest, Romania. The 2012 winners received the Ramsar trophy created by the late sculptress Verena Darmon and a certificate.

For the fifth edition, the Ramsar Awards were given in three categories of Education, Management, and Science, to the Wisconsin Wetlands Association, Ms Augusta Henriques, and Prof. Tatsuichi Tsujii, respectively. The jury also conferred a Recognition of Achievement Award to Mr Thymio Papayannis. Finally, as 2011 marked the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Convention, the Standing Committee decided to honour one of the founding fathers of the treaty, Dr Luc Hoffmann, with a 40th Anniversary Honorary Ramsar Award.
