SERIES OF VIDEO-CONFERENCES IN SPANISH ON THE NATURAL AND CULTURAL IMPORTANCE AND BENEFITS OF WETLANDS

The project "Series of video-conferences on the natural and cultural importance and benefits of wetlands" was aimed at strengthening the recognition of the value that wetlands have as priority ecosystems for the welfare of societies and territories among key stakeholders and decision-makers in and around Ramsar Sites in Mexico.

A series of nine video-conferences were elaborated with the joint collaboration of the Ministry of Environment of Mexico, the National Commission of Protected Areas of Mexico, and the company Mexico Lindo, and can be accessed further below.

As a result, over 2,700 people and over 700 institutions from Mexico and other countries in Latin America (including Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru) registered to participate in this series of video-conferences, comprising three presentations, each given by an expert in the subject.

Seventy-nine people completed evaluations of the video-conferences and prepared essays sharing the impacts that this project had on their personal and professional lives.
