Pablo López holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from The University of Queensland, Australia. He also spent a semester at The University of Helsinki, Finland studying Conservation Biology. He joins the Ramsar Secretariat to assist with the application of the Convention in the Americas, which was the focus of his bachelor's thesis. Pablo comes with vast experience as he has helped organize the 13th Conference of the Parties (COP13) to the Convention of Biological Diversity of the United Nations in Mexico in 2016. He has also worked with several NGOs coordinating fundraising strategies with the private sector, embassies and local governments. In addition to this, he worked with different government environmental agencies in Mexico, and collaborated with the IUCN for the development of the Green List Standard of Protected Areas.
