Benin has significantly increased the area of two Wetlands of International Importance. Together they now cover the entire coast of Benin, forming a vast and important complex of wetlands.
On September 23 – 25 the new Wetlands City Accreditation Independent Advisory Committee (IAC) met in Suncheon City, Republic of Korea to conduct a review of progress on implementation and financing.

Montenegro has designated its third Wetland of International Importance: Ulcinj Salina is the largest salina (saltpan) in the Adriatic.
South Africa has named three new Wetlands of International Importance. It now has 26 “Ramsar Sites”.
