Wetland Day 2006-Bhopal
Lake Conservation Authority is a successor agency of Bhoj Wetland Project.
After successful execution of Bhoj Wetland Project, Govt of M.P., India
has decided to constitute a separate authority for performing conservation
work for other lakes & water bodies of the entire state.
Early years we celebrated World Wetland Day in Bhoj Wetland Project.
To keep continuing this activity we organized two days workshop in Bhopal
(Madhya Pradesh)-India on "Water Conservation" with the Ramsar's
theme of "Wetland as a tool in poverty allevation" for the teachers
of the eminent schools/college/educational institutions of the city. Chairman
Pollution Control Board had inaugurated the workshop in presence of A.P.
Shrivastava, Zonal Officer, Central Pollution Control Board. Dr. Sanjeev
Sachdev & Dr. S. M. Misra - Sr. Research Officer, Lake Conservation
Authority, Dr. A. Vishwakarma, WALMI had deliver their lecture on water
conservation, roof top harvesting, watershed management respectively.
Around 150 participants of various educational institutes had participated
in this workshop.
