Subject: REPORT ON WORLD WETLANDS DAY
A brief
report from the Ramsar Focal Point in Trinidad on our World Wetlands Day Celebrations.
As reported earlier, an educational seminar was held for students on the theme
and a poster exhibit was launched. The event was successful beyond our expectations
and approximately 300 persons were in attendance. A few pictures are attached
in this and a subsequent message.
You would note that we took the opportunity to introduce students to the Ramsar
website and this was well received.
All participants received commemorative items including a tote bag, pens,
pencils and notepads. A sample of each has been mailed to the Ramsar Bureau
(Margarita Astrálaga). As a follow-up, all presentations are being
recorded on CDs for distribution to the schools and organizations which attended
the Seminar.
