World Wetland Day, Lake Naivasha, Kenya (bis)
Dear Valerie, I have at
last found the time to look through my photos and haul out a few on our World
Wetland Day event, which was held at Elsamere Field Study Centre, in a beautiful
setting on the shores of the Lake. Needless to say I have far too many photos
so I will send them in two separate Emails and you can see if any of them would
be good for your WWD site. They are of some of the school children in action
with their songs and poems, some are of the Masai who danced and made fire for
us, and a photo of Sam Gitahi of the Lake Naivasha Riparian Association
(our Monitoring Officer and only employee) and Margaret Otieno of Elsamere
Field Study Centre, two of our key organisers of the event. Sadly our other
key organiser, Catherine Wekesa of Kenya Wildlife Service, couldn't make
the event and so missed out on the photo opportunity!
Cheerfully, Sarah
