Subject: World Wetlands Day.
According to the World Wetlands Day, Thailand by the Office of Environmental Policy and Planning organized a seminar on The World Wetland Day: 30th Anniversary of Ramsar Convention during February 1-2, 2001. Approximately 200 participants from related government agencies and NGOs attended the meeting. To strengthen knowledges, understanding and awareness on importance and values of wetland, Ramsar Convention and wetland conservation was the main objective of the seminar. Many topics that related to global, national and local issues of wetland were presented by many guest speakers from various agencies including Dr. Taej Mundkur from Wetlands International, Ranong Province Governor, Lord Mayer of Krabi Municipality and local community leaders. Details are attached herewith.
