Gujarat Vigyan Parishad, Environment Education Centre and Kotak Science College organized a World Wetlands Day Celebration on February 2, 2001, at Rajkot (Gujarat Region), India. A Memorandum submitted to government authority and aware about wetland values. One lecture on ‘Wetland World – a World to Discover!’, student visit to wetland, exhibition and drawing – essay competition also conducted.

Mass awareness programme on Wetlands through face to face talk and through media, we are trying to aware and educate the people. One small booklet on wetlands in Gujarati language also prepared to get knowledge of the wetlands.

Drawing and essay competition also arranged to motivate students in conservation movement. We will send you a best drawing, we shall be grateful for your support.

Saurashtra University – Rajkot has been making an artificial wetland at the campus; we will support technical and other guidance to them.
