Wed 2	Wise use of Wetlands, Ramsar in the Hunter- a Forum examining issues and opportunities for wetlands planning and management World Wetlands Week Launch at The Wetlands Centre Kooragang City Farm Bus Tour- visit some of the community team from the Kooragang Monitoring Project at Warabrook before visiting the Kooragang City Farm to view ‘farming in harmony with wetlands’ Ducks ‘n the Drink - Wine Tasting and dusk tour of the Wetlands: watch the Centre’s wildlife get ready for night with our guides and Lindemans

Sat 5	Basketry Workshop Virginia Kaiser is renowned nationally for her works, designs and books on baskets. Virginia will conduct a workshop using harvested wetlands materials
Sun 6	The Brolga Party The Hunter community is invited to our Birthday party. Entertainment will include live music featuring Brooke Leal. Short talks and displays, Wetlands of the World Interactive display, Canoe Discovery Tours of Hexham Nature Reserve, guided walks, and fishing competitions will be held throughout the day, with free face painting and hay rides for kids big and small.
through the week	Wetlands Postcards 2000, The winners of this competition will be announced on World Wetlands Day, with the finalists displayed throughout the school holidays Wildlife Illustration an exhibition by Sonya Naumov, a noted wildlife designer, and the first post-graduate from Newcastle University in this exciting field
