The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands
World Wetlands Day 2000: Australia

World Wetland Day in Northern Territory, Australia
Hi, I was hoping you could include this on your website for me. We celebrate for the whole week around World Wetland Day for as much promotion as we can get. I will be following up with our newspaper to run a story, etc., for further promotions. I have previously e-mailed you with hope of some stickers and info packs for giveaways. We will be running these activities and each person who participates will be put into a draw (daily) for a wetland T-shirt (FoggDam), a wetland calico backpack (window on the wetlands), and various other promotional pamphlets, i.e., waterwatch, landcare, ramsar stickers, etc. This is to encourage people to value each and every wetland. The slide show is to explain Ramsar a bit for the locals and show the Coburg [the world's first Ramsar site] off, etc., with some beautiful sunrise and sunsets, birds and animals. I work with the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Commission and manage the visitor centre, just on holidays at present. School goes back here on WWD, so we should be able to reach quite a few people covering the week. Thanks for your time. Pam Wickham
