Greece: MedWet Coordination Unit in Athens, Greece, 2002-2004

Mrs Maria Anagnostopoulou is a biologist with a post-graduate degree in environmental control, active in the field of wetland conservation since 1993, when she started her career in the MedWet training subproject, employed by the Greek Biotope - Wetland Centre and supervised by Tour du Valat. She worked in this field until the closing meeting of MedWet 1, later involved also in monitoring, building upon the relevant work of MedWet and of EKBY. Since 1997 she was involved in national wetland strategy and Ramsar affairs. In 2002 she came back to the MedWet family, in the position of the MedWet Communications Officer. She is married (to the MedWet Webmaster) and has a daughter and a son.
