Born in Argentina, 1944; initiated his career as a teacher and subsequently followed studies in Social Anthropology.  Has been deeply involved in international action dealing with conservation and sustainable resource use issues for almost 30 years. Director of the Environment Liaison Centre International in Nairobi, Kenya, then moved to IUCN - The World Conservation Union in Switzerland as Head of the Membership and External Relations Division.   Subsequently Executive Director of the Geneva-based International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA).  Married with two daughters.  Working languages: Spanish, English, French.
