Sharon Oseku-frainier

Sharon Oseku-Frainier joined the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands in October 2014 as the Communications Officer, External Relations. Prior to joining the Convention, she was at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), where she coordinated the day to day communication and outreach activities for the global initiative, The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB). From 2008 to 2012, she was a Fellow with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), where as a Training Associate of the Climate Change Programme, she focused on capacity building and knowledge sharing for groups such as media, researchers and policy actors from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Pacific to address the impacts of climate change. She has also previously worked for UNEP-Biosafety Projects, UNAIDS,  the Council of Health Research for Development and MCL McCann-Erickson Uganda. Sharon holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University Geneva and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University in Kampala.
