Ramsar Convention at UNFCCC COP23

6 Nov 2017

6 – 17 November 2017, Bonn, Germany

The 23rd Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP23) will be held in Bonn, Germany, from 6 to 17 November 2017. The COP presidency will be held by Fiji.

COP23 will build on the achievements of COP22 (in which Ramsar Secretariat actively participated) and of COP21.

The Ramsar delegation will emphasize the critical role of wetlands in climate change adaptation and mitigation, and advance wetlands as a major opportunity for countries seeking to meet their targets under the Paris Agreement on climate change (NDC - Nationally Determined Contributions).
