Ramsar Handbooks for the Wise Use of Wetlands

The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) presents its compliments to the Permanent Mission of ... and has the honour to refer to the following:

The Secretariat is pleased to forward a CD-ROM copy of the 3rd edition of the Handbooks for the Wise Use of Wetlands. The Ramsar Handbooks contain all of the guidelines adopted by the Conference of the Contracting Parties, as well as a good deal of additional illustrative material, and this 3rd edition has been updated to include the results of the 9th meeting of the COP in November 2005. The CD-ROM includes all 17 of the Handbooks in Adobe PDF format in English, French, and Spanish versions.

The Secretariat wishes to acknowledge the financial support of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the US Department of State for the publication of this edition of the Handbooks.

The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands respectfully requests that the content of the present note be communicated to the competent national authorities and avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Permanent Mission of ... the assurance of its highest consideration.
