The Bureau of the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) presents its compliments and has the honour to refer to the following:

The Ramsar Convention Bureau is pleased to enclose the Report of the Statutory Auditors and Financial Statements for the year 1999. This document is prepared and circulated pursuant to the Terms of Reference for Financial Administration of the Convention adopted at the 5^th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (June 1993). The Standing Committee of the Convention, at its 25^th Meeting held in Gland, Switzerland, from 23-27 October 2000, adopted the following decision concerning this issue:

«Decision SC25-22: The Standing Committee accepted the Audited Accounts as truly reflecting the financial position of the Ramsar Bureau as of 31st December 1999, for transmittal to all Contracting Parties.»

The Bureau of the Convention on Wetlands respectfully requests that the content of the present Note be communicated to the competent national authorities and avails itself of this opportunity to renew the assurance of its highest consideration.
