Youth NGO-conference

The Convention on Wetlands, signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971, is an intergovernmental treaty which provides the framework for national action and international co-operation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources. There are presently 124 Contracting Parties to the Convention, with 1069 wetland sites, totalling 81.2 million hectares, designated for inclusion in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance.

In November of 2002 in Spain, Valencia, is organised the Eighth Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COPs) of Ramsar Convention. Our organisation Amigos de la Tierra Galicia (we are the member of the net of Friends of the Earth International) would like to organise a youth pre-conference of this Meeting in autumn in the same year, in Valencia.

Now we are looking for young participants,

• up to 26 years olds,
• who are members of an NGO (of the countries of EU, and Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and associated countries as Hungary, Poland etc...), [see note below]
• and have a knowledge already about the topic.

Conférence-ONG de la jeunesse européenne

La convention sur les zones humides, signée à Ramsar (Iran) en 1971 est un traité intergouvernemental qui institue une structure pour un travail au niveau national et une coopération internationale pour la conservation et l’utilisation raisonnée des zones humides et de leurs ressources. Aujourd’hui, 124 pays ont ratifié ce traité soit l’inscription sur la Liste de Ramsar des zones humides d’importance internationale, de 1069 sites ou 81.2 millions d’hectares.

En Novembre 2002, Valence (Espagne) organisera la huitième Conférence des parties signataires (COPs) de la Convention de Ramsar. Notre organisation Amigos de la Tierra – Xuventude (membre de Friends of Earth International) voudrait organiser une pré – conférence avec les jeunes, en automne de la même année à Valence (Espagne).

Nous recherchons donc des participants

• de moins de 26 ans,
• membres d’une ONG (des pays de l’Union Europénne, d’Islande, du Lichtenstein, de Norvège et des pays associés à l’UE comme la Hongrie, la Pologne ... )
• et ayant des connaissances sur ce sujet.

Ramsar Conferencia 2002 España

ONG-conferencia Juvenil

El Convenio sobre las Zonas Húmedas, firmado en Ramsar, Irán, en 1971, es un tratado entre los gobiernos participantes que forma un marco del trabajo de acción nacional y cooperación internacional para la conservación y utilización sabia de las zonas húmedas. Hoy en día el Convenio tiene 124 países participantes, con 1069 (81.2 millón hectáreas) áreas en la Lista Ramsar de Zonas Húmedas de Importancia Internacional.

En Noviembre de 2002, en España, Valencia, estará la Octava Reunion de la Conferencia de los Partes Firmantes (COPs) del Convenio de Ramsar. Nuestra organización Amigos da Terra Galicia-Xuventude (miembro de Friends of the Earth International) quiere organizar una pre-conferencia juvenil en otoño del mismo año en Valencia. Ahora estamos buscando participantes jóvenes,

• hasta la edad de 26,
• que sean miembros de una ONG (de los países de UE y Islandia, Liectenstein, Noruega, y los países asociados con UE como Hungría, Polonia etc...),
• y con conocimientos en el tema.

Die Konvention ueber Feuchtgebiete, unterzeichnet 1971 in Ramsar, Iran, ist ein Vetrag zwischen den teilnehmenden Regierungen, der einen Rahmen fuer nationale Taetigkeit und internationale Zusammenarbeit fuer die Erhaltung und vernuenftige Nutzung der Feuchtgebiete und ihrer Ressourcen stellt. Gegenwaertig hat die Konvention 124 Vertragspartner, mit 1069 Feuchtgebieten, die sich auf 81,2 Millionen Hektar belaufen, die in die Ramsar-Liste der Feuchtgebiete mit internationaler Bedeutung aufgenommen wurden.

Im November 2002 wird in Spanien, Valencia, das Achte Treffen der Konferenz der Vertragspartner (COPs) der Ramsar-Konvention organisiert. Unsere Organisation Amigos da Terra Galicia-Xuventude (wir sind Mitglied von Friends of the Earth International) moechten im Herbst desselben Jahres in Valencia eine Jugend-Vorkonferenz fuer dieses Treffen organisieren.

Jetzt suchen wir junge Teilnehmer:

• bis zu 26 Jahren,
• die Mitglied einer NGO ( aus den Laendern der EU und Island, Liechtenstein, Norwegen und teilhabende Laender wie Ungarn, Polen usw.) sind
• und schon Kenntnisse ueber dieses Thema besitzen.
