National Reports for COP7 -- index page

National Reports prepared for the 7th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971)

Implementation of the Ramsar Convention in general, and of the Ramsar Strategic Plan 1997-2002 in particular, during the period since the National Reports were prepared in 1995 for Ramsar COP6

From the first meeting of the Ramsar Conference of the Contracting Parties in 1980, countries have submitted National Reports on their implementation of the Convention. National Reports constitute a vital source of information on the implementation of the Convention at the country, regional, and global levels, and once submitted to the Bureau become public documents.

Of 113 Contracting Parties at the time of COP7, 107 submitted National Reports, 3 did not submit National Reports, and 3, having only just joined the Convention, were exempted from submitting a report -- a return rate of 97.2%.

National Reports which have been posted here are marked as "yes" in the righthand column and shown as links in the left column.  Reports which have been received and finalized by the Bureau's Regional Coordinators, in consultation with the respective Parties, but are not yet posted here, are marked as "yes" in the righthand column but show no link.  The Reports are in the "working language" (English, French, and Spanish) as submitted.   Note: Some reports have so far been received only in hard copy and will appear here when an electronic copy has been typed by Bureau staff or supplied by the Party. Reports are not expected from a handful of Parties which have joined the Convention only very recently, and these are marked as recent.
