World Wetlands Day - materials are ready

Greetings for the second time today:

Our materials for WWD 2010 are ready! List members already know that our suggested World Wetlands Day theme for this year is on wetlands, biodiversity and climate change and that the slogan isCaring for wetlands – an answer to climate change. Today the hard copies of the poster, stickers and leaflet will arrive at the Secretariat and we already have all the electronic copies – so it is time to reveal all!

We hope you will find the materials useful and that the theme offers enough scope for you, our key World Wetland Day actors, in terms of your likely focus for the day. Online you can download printable versions of the materials (but beware, our poster is VERY big at 26MB). As usual we will be mailing hard copies of the posters, stickers, and this year, one copy of the leaflet. We will also include a CD with the electronic versions of these materials as well as a do-it-yourself bird and a kaleidocycle. Never heard of a kaleidocycle? Time to get online and find out – I hadn’t heard of it either until the designer suggested it.

If you received our materials by post last year then no need to write and ask for them.  If you have changed your mailing address, or if you have never received our WWD materials before, please email your request to wwd@ramsar.org and don’t forget to include your full mailing address.

As always, our approach to WWD has to be global, but we know that your activities are most likely to be either national or local. To make best use of our materials, we encourage you to customize them to make them more meaningful in your own situation. We can provide the design files on DVD in Adobe InDesign for all the WWD materials so that you can change the language (currently in English, French or Spanish) to suit your national or local needs and customize the materials in other ways to reflect better your local situation.
