Vacancy: WWF International Arctic Programme, Head,Communications & Marketing, Oslo. Deadline 9 February
Look North!
The Arctic is one of the world's last great wild areas; a vast, partly-frozen sea surrounded by fjords, mountains, tundra and glaciers. It's home to half a million indigenous people, and a rich array of wildlife, from huge fish stocks to polar bears, from arctic fox to reindeer, from seals to beluga whales. However, the Arctic is increasingly under threat primarily from climate change, but also from oil and gas development, shipping, and over-fishing.
Help us make a difference. WWF, the global conservation organization, seeks a highly experienced Head, Communications & Marketing to ensure the strategic integration of communications, campaigning and marketing/fundraising for WWF International Arctic Programme based in Oslo.
The Head, Communications &Marketing will play a key role in leading and ensuring that the WWF Network engaged in Arctic work is fully involved in both planning and implementation of one of the organization's most important global programmes.
Key requirements:
- A minimum of seven years experience in communication, journalism or a related field.
- Ability to think strategically, and proven success in networking and interpersonal skills.
- Superlative communication skills.
- Ability to manage contacts with research institutions, government agencies, and other non-governmental organizations concerning communications related activities.
- A higher degree in communications, journalism or a related field is essential.
- International working experience, specifically in the coordination of a team with varied cultural backgrounds.
- An excellent command of English. Knowledge of Russian or a Scandinavian language is an asset.
- Willingness to travel.
- A strong commitment to the purpose of WWF.
