International poster exhibition and competition (23/06/08)

Good morning everyone:

We have received information from Slovakia of an international exhibition and competition of issued posters on the problems of the environment and nature protection that. First launched in 1978, this exhibition and competition takes place every 3 years with the aims of increasing public interest in the conservation of the Earth’s biological diversity and stimulating the international production of posters concerning the environment and nature conservation. On show will be the works of professional designers, artists, art agencies, teams of authors, environmental organisations and institutions and students of the art and design academies, universities etc. The exhibition and competition is under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic and organised by the Mala Fatra National park Administration in Varín in cooperation with the Považska Gallery of Art in Žilina.

The exhibition will take place from 2nd October - 16th November 2008 at the Považska Art Gallery in Žilina. The deadline for sending in entries is 30th July 2008.
