World Wetlands Day - first mailing complete - and our first WWD news received (22/10/07)
Good morning everyone:
Our World Wetlands Day materials are winging their way to everyone who has asked for them and most have already arrived at their destination.
From an email I received on Friday, some of you are already well organised - Carrie Ma from the Hong Kong Wetland Park wrote to say that they were launching their WWD programme on Saturday 20th October. Look here for their WWD 2008 programme http://www.wetlandpark.com/wwd2008/ and click on their activities link to see the diverse activities planned. From a poster design competition, with the winning selection being used to produce a wetland calendar for 2008, to "Vibrant Wetlands" Papercutting Workshops, to a "Wetland Model Creation" Workshop and Activity, and more, the Park is offering WWD-related activities on weekends beginning now and running right through to their WWD Fair on 2nd February.
There is still time to ask the Secretariat for WWD materials but please do so now by writing to wwd@ramsar.org. Full details on our WWD 2008 materials are now on our web site here http://www.ramsar.org/wwd/8/wwd2008_index.htm.
