Exchange of good practice in youth work between Europe and Africa, the Caribbean, Pacific (ACP), Asia, Latin America (16/03/06)

Dear all together,

This is to inform you about the recent call for proposals from the European Commission for the “Exchange of good practice in youth work between Europe and Africa, the Caribbean, Pacific, Asia, Latin America”, which could be a good opportunity to promote communication and education activities to improve our Ramsar Sites Network and management.

The YOUTH programme aims to reinforce cooperation in the field of youth by fostering the exchange of good practice, the training of youth workers/leaders and the development of innovative actions at Community level. The specific objectives of the projects should address the needs of the partners in Africa, the Caribbean, Pacific (ACP), Asia and Latin America.

It’s even more interesting, if you look at the eligible activities which are including practical training/job-shadowing, study visits, seminars and conferences, training courses, youth information activities, networking activities or other innovative activities. Please find the call for the proposals in the attached documents and all application details at http://europa.eu.int/comm/youth/call/eac4705/index_en.html.

With this I would like to encourage you to think about such a project with your Ramsar site management authorities or to put an already existing idea in such a project proposal and submit it within the given application deadline at the 30 June 2006. It offers a great opportunity for all partners.

Please come back to me, if you would like to start such a project, but don’t have the partners yet. I can talk with my colleagues of the respective region, where it would be much needed, appreciated and whom to contact.

Another funding opportunity for Asian European Youth exchange can be discovered under www.asef.org.

I am looking forward hearing from you about your project ideas.

With best wishes,

Dorothea August
