Season's Greetings to Everyone:
My first news item of the year is not really ‘news’! Most of this information has been on the web site since just before Christmas – but I’m sure it will be news to some list members!
The new Ramsar video “Wetlands: keeping our planet alive and well” is now available for download in English, French, and Spanish versions, both long and short. “The movie tells a story about the importance of wetlands for human beings and issues that these most precious resources are facing. The Ramsar Convention helps people to work together and manage these vital ecosystems.”
It was first screened at Ramsar COP10 in Changwon, Korea, to grand applause, and in fact was produced by Green.tv with generous financial support from the city of Changwon. The long version runs about 4 and a half minutes, about 30MB each, and the 1 and a half minute shorter version is about 12MB. These downloadables are in QuickTime .MOV format.
Download here (note: the short version in French is not yet available).

We are also making these versions available free-of-charge on a DVD in PAL and NTSC formats. If you would like to receive one of these DVDs please write to Nathalie Rizzotti (rizzotti@ramsar.org) noting your preferred format and including your name and postal address. If you would like to produce your own language version, please ask Nathalie for the appropriate format that will allow you to do this (but be aware that using this format will require special software).
With best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat
