Effect of adverse climate Change Impacts to fragile Ecosystems: A video session - looking for videos
Lamentablemente, no hay versión en español de este documento
Greetings to everyone:
Here’s an interesting initiative from the Nature Palace Foundation. They are looking for videos that illustrate the adverse effects of climate change on fragile ecosystems and want a focus on sharing personal experiences. Would be good to have wetlands represented if any of you have suitable material. All the information is available below and there is more information on their web site (they are offering travel grants which need to be applied for through their web site).
Please do not write to the Secretariat for any further information – we are not involved with this meeting and have no funding available – but please do get in touch with David Nkwanga for further information (details below).
Best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat

Dear Colleague,
Nature Palace Foundationwill be organizing a special session on The Effect of adverse climate Change Impacts to fragile Eco- systems: A video session - during the 4th World Conference on Ecological Restoration, Merida, Mexico, August 21 -25th, 2011. I would like to invite you to submit your abstract to make a presentation under this special session.
We are looking for presenters with short videos of between 7 – 15 minutes that look at:
·The precursors to Climate Change catastrophes in fragile eco-systems;
·The human impact in accelerating climate change disasters;
·Coping strategies and best restoration options.
Overall, this special session should facilitate sharing personal experiences of effects of climate change in people’s lives and to ecosystem degradation/transformation; getting practical views on ecosystem restoration in regard to people’s livelihoods and community capacity development for adaptation and restoration efforts; and, developing networks aimed at reducing the vulnerability of the highly natural resource-dependant poor communities in fragile eco-systems.
You should indicate the duration of your video at the end of your abstract.
Once your abstract is accepted you will be required to prepare your video to be compatible for VCL or Windows Media Player, saved on a memory stick or your laptop. It is also advisable that you carry a hard copy on DVD.
Please find other important issues to consider – include guidelines for submitting your abstract from this link:
