Dear Ramsar CEPA friends,
I am pleased to announce you that there will be two Asian Wetlands Symposia held in this particular year 2011 of the 40th Anniversary of the Ramsar Convention. One in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia on 18-20 July and the other in Wuxi, Jiangsu, P. R. China on 11-13 October 2011.
The Asian Wetland Symposium (AWS) is a series of international symposia aimed at providing a platform for active discussion on issues related to wetland conservation and the wise-use of wetland resources. It is the premier forum for management, research, and particularly enhancement of CEPA on wetlands. Its contribution has been recognised through the Resolution IX.19 adopted at the 9th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties of the Ramsar Convention (Kampala, Uganda, 2005).
Two symposia are calling for papers and pre-registrations now.
