Going live - WWD 2014
World Wetlands Day 2014 - Wetlands and Agriculture: Partners for Growth
Our materials are in the mail and on the web so it is really time to get serious about World Wetlands Day. On Saturday our Facebook page gave the early warning that it was only 100 days to World Wetlands Day. Today it’s only 97 and counting!
What we have on the web now is the standard package – the leaflet (in flashbook and PDF), a poster, a cartoon from Seppo, stickers and a children’s activity, all in print format. These are all available on CD. The leaflet, poster and stickers are also available in hard copy. The CD and hard copies have been mailed to those of you who had already requested them. The design files for your adaptations are available on DVD. Those of you who wish to receive the standard package should write to firstname.lastname@example.org (please include your mailing address and state if you also wish the DVD for your adaptations or translations).
What else is in the pipeline? We are now preparing a Powerpoint based on the leaflet, which you can use and adapt for a WWD event depending on your target audience. Coming also will be a dynamic animation on Prezi.com. In addition we are looking forward to an infographic from IWMI. We have some other plans for later in the year, time permitting, and will be sending out more information when available.
So now is the time for your own WWD planning. It’s such an important theme for the wetland community and there are certainly many different issues that you know need resolving in your country to make wetlands and agriculture truly ‘partners for growth’. Is there a special event you might organize to target a particular sector of society, perhaps farmers, or water managers, or people in the agriculture sector? What could they do to help resolve issues and what event might encourage such a change? We hope to count you among our WWD actors for WWD 2014 and we hope to hear from you after WWD with reports on your activities.
Over to you!
With best regards,
The Ramsar Secretariat
