Solutions for a sustainable future - online and print publication

31/01/2012

Greetings CEPA people:

Here’s something else for your communications bookshelf.

Solutions is a peer-reviewed print and online publication showcasing ideas for solving the planets pressing environmental challenges and their related social and economic dimensions. The editors, including the well-known environmental economist Robert Constanza, tackle many topical issues such as climate disruption, loss of biodiversity, poverty, energy descent, overfishing, air, water, and soil pollution etc, and they review and share the creative solutions that are available.

The bi-monthly print journal, launched in January 2010, is available at an affordable price while Solutionsonline is free.

As an example of their free online materials look here www.thesolutionsjournal.com/node/1011 for the article What Car Salesmen Can Teach Environmentalists. This provides an easy-to-read helpful comparison between the ‘sales pitch’ of your average car salesman, who depends on successful communication for his/her job, and that of many environmentalists. It’s a very useful reminder of how to get your message across.

With best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat
