Ramsar Secretariat opening for an Intern for the Americas Region

Greetings Everyone:

The Ramsar Secretariat welcomes applications for the position of Intern/Assistant Advisor for the American region, a 12-month posting (possibly extendable to 18 months) at the Ramsar Secretariat in Switzerland, to begin in early January 2012.

Here is a checklist of Ramsar’s requirements for this position:

  • You have a university degree (preferably a post-graduate qualification) in a subject relevant to wetland conservation and sustainable use, such as biology, hydrology, marine sciences, natural resources management, land use planning or geography.
  • You are a national of countries in the Americas region (which includes North, South and Central America and the Caribbean), and have lived most of your life in this region.
  • You have perfect fluency in both Spanish and English, written and spoken.
  • You are under 30 years of age.
