Managing a Ramsar site - an inspiring story (21/08/07)

Good morning everyone:

The Fivebough & Tuckerbill wetlands in Australia were declared a Ramsar site in 2002. An inspiring story of how the wetlands have been managed since then, with the local community, industry, and government agencies forming the Fivebough & Tuckerbill Wetlands Trust, comes from WWFs Jamie Pittock.

Read his short article highlighting the major achievements of the Trust, and follow the links to the Trust’s web site, here http://www.ramsar.org/wn/w.n.australia_fivebough_award.htm.

Best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat
