Good afternoon everyone:

I have no doubt that the Ramsar CEPA Focal Point members of this list will groan in unison when they see the content of this message! For some weeks now we have been engaged in sending out a questionnaire (and reminders) to our main contacts in Ramsar countries to look at whether people are using our guidance documents - our resolutions and our handbook series - and whether they find them useful. Why? Because we do wonder whether we could be doing this better! The deadline for return of this questionnaire is in fact today but we have made a decision with our consultant to involve the broader Ramsar family and to extend the deadline to the 2 July.

This questionnaire is part of the work of the Convention's Scientific & Technical Review Panel (STRP) and since this is the body that generates most of our guidance it is not surprising that they would like some feedback. So this is your chance to say exactly what you think - and to help shape the future of the our guidance. Your response should go directly to our consultant (details below) and it will be confidential so you can really say what you think!

The deadline for sending back your completed questionnaire is Monday 2 July 2007. There will be a final report in the next few months and this will, of course, be shared with the CEPA list.
