Young Professionals of the World Commission on Protected Areas need your help (19/08/08)
Greetings Everyone:
Here’s a message form the World Commission on Protected Areas that might be of interest. Sadly, I don’t make the ‘young professionals’ age limit (not by a looooong way), but I’m sure many of you or your colleagues do!
Best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat

The Young Professionals of the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) need your help in responding to former South African President Nelson Mandela’s 2003 World Parks Congress call for youth leadership in conservation and informing the future of the largest network of conservation professionals the world over. We are conducting a global survey of all types of young professionals and leaders under the age of 35 on the most pressing issues facing protected areas, conservationists and youth in the drive to build a more sustainable future for all. Your input will provide crucial insight to IUCN, its Commissions and network and the means for world leaders to take action in the areas where it is most needed, including young professional engagement. Results will be presented at the World Conservation Congress this year in Barcelona.
We want to hear your voice…and so do the world leaders!
This survey can be accessed in English, French, and Spanish here http://intranet.iucn.org/webfiles/doc/WCPA/YP_Survey.pdf and must be completed by 10th September 2008.
Questions or comments can be directed to: rkoss@peopleandparks.org or janasudeep@gmail.com
