River basin management conference and a WWF job opportunity (16/12/04)
Hello everyone:
Two items that may be of interest to readers:
1. Here's a message from Bruce Lankford concerning an upcoming river basin management conference.
"This to inform you that there is still time to submit an abstract for the East African River Basin Management Conference held 7-9 March 2005 in Tanzania, and funded by DFID, IWMI, Comprehensive Assessment, and with support from HELP, Challenge Program and others. There are six themes: Theme 1 Water productivity - methodologies & management; Theme 2 Environmental flow assessment; Theme 3 Rainwater harvesting: Theme 4 Water governance and institutions (conflicts, legal framework, tradeoffs, dialogue, community level management); Theme 5 Water economics and livelihoods; Theme 6 Modelling and tools (decision-making).
On the 10th March a workshop by the World Bank is provided free for those attending the conference "Environmental and Social Safeguards: Integrating Environmental Flow Assessment in Water Resources Investment Planning and Policy Implementation March 10, 2005. Morogoro, Tanzania"
