Important notice - Change in the date of Ramsar’s COP11
Greetings.
The UN Conference on Sustainable Development has recently announced a change in the dates of the RIO+20 meeting in 2012 which will now take place from 20-22 June. This of course has serious implications for Ramsar’s COP11, originally scheduled from 19-26th June.
In recent days the Romanian Government, the Ramsar Secretariat and the Chair of Standing Committee have been in contact regarding this new situation. Thanks to the swift action of the Romanian Government the Secretariat, with the agreement of the Standing Committee Chair, is pleased to announce that it has been possible to re-schedule COP11 which will now take place from 6-13 July 2012.
Please note that Standing Committee 44 will now take place on the 4th July, Regional meetings on the 5th and 6th July and the Opening Ceremony on 6th July. A re-drafted provisional agenda reflecting these changes will soon be made available on the Convention’s web site.
Best regards, the Ramsar Secretariat
