Request for case studies on animal disease in wetlands

23/06/2010

Dear CEPA list members:

Ramsar’s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) is currently developing guidance on the prevention and control of animal disease in wetlands, for which the Panel is seeking case studies.

The STRP team is primarily looking for case studies that illustrate management practices used in the prevention and/or control of a disease at a wetland site. The Panel is also interested in any case studies relevant to disease in wetlands, e.g. policy development, disease emergence, the interface between wildlife, livestock and humans in a particular wetland, etc.

If you might be able to provide a case study, please contact Rebecca Lee (Rebecca.lee@wwt.org.uk) for further information.

Attached is a case study form which can be used as a template and outlines some of the information they’re looking for, however case studies in other formats are also acceptable (e.g. a previously published scientific article).

All input will be greatly appreciated! Please reply directly to Rebecca.

With best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat
