40th anniversary launch of an online gallery and a photo mosaic

04/08/2011

Greetings Everyone:

To celebrate 40 years of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, the Secretariat is pleased to launch an online gallery showcasing the beauty of wetlands in the world. What better way to bring attention to the wonders of wetlands and the urgent need to protect them?

See the online gallery We used the pictures we already have to create a first photo mosaic that shows the very first Wetland of International Importance added to the Ramsar List, Cobourg Peninsula in Australia.

Contribute with your pictures!

We count on you now to help us increase the number of pictures in the gallery. All new pictures will be used to populate the next three photo mosaics during our anniversary year. We will be creating the second photo mosaic on 10 October.Send us your wetland-related pictures (maximum 3 pictures) by 30 September 2011. The Secretariat will select the three best pictures as the cover photos for the next 3 photo mosaics. The other pictures will constitute the smaller parts of the mosaic cover photos and feed our photo gallery.

Contribute to the next photo mosaicSee all events and activities related to Ramsar’s 40th Anniversary.

With best wishes, Sandra Hails, Ramsar Secretariat
