Ramsar's Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) will be holding a series of webinars (or virtual conferences), aiming to raise awareness about the different activities being carried by the Ramsar Administrative Authorities, STRP National Focal Points, the STRP and other Ramsar stakeholders to implement the Convention in the different Ramsar regions. The webinars also seek to enhance interaction amongst STRP National Focal Points and Ramsar National Focal Points. STRP webinars will be held in any of the three Convention languages.
Please join us on Friday 13 September, from 10:00am to 11:00am EDT, for a webinar on the Sustainable Planning and Management of Urban Wetlands by Rob McInnes, Society of Wetland Scientists Representative to the STRP. This webinar will review trends in urbanisation and wetlands, highlighting initiatives aiming to deliver sustainable planning and management of wetlands in cities. The talk will focus on recent initiatives undertaken by the Ramsar Convention, in collaboration with UN Habitat in West Africa, which are seeking to deliver a more sustainable future for both human society and the wetlands upon which they intrinsically depend. It will also summarise some of the key issues included in the forthcoming Ramsar Convention’s Scientific and Technical Review Panel’s Briefing Note on Managing urban and peri-urban wetlands for human well-being.
Space is limited. Reserve your Webinar seat now at: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/794115586. After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Webinar. For any questions, please write to strp[at]ramsar.org.
