La nueva Oficial de comunicaciones de Ramsar

La Secretaría espera dar la bienvenida a la Sra. Oana Penea, nuestra nueva Oficial de comunicaciones a partir del 1 de marzo. Oana viene a Ramsar después de desempeñar durante tres años el puesto de Oficial de comunicaciones de la Unidad de Publicaciones e Información del Foro Mundial de Investigaciones de la Salud en Ginebra, donde, entre otras tareas, se encargó de desarrollar un sitio web más interactivo. Revisaba todas las informaciones públicas recogidas en el sitio y está familiarizada con el sistema de publicación de documentos electrónicos de Ramsar, la cooperación con traductores y escribir para contenidos de la Red y coordinarlos. Oana adquirió su experiencia anterior en el campo de las comunicaciones trabajando con la Alianza de Alcaldes y Dirigentes Municipales sobre el VIH/SIDA en África (AMICAALL, con sede en Ginebra) y con la UNOPS (la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas de Servicios para Proyectos).

Oana es rumana de nacimiento, pro ha pasado la mayor parte de su vida en Suiza y posee las nacionalidades rumana y helvética. Es bilingüe en francés y rumano y posee un excelente inglés, pues es titular de una maestría en Lengua y Literatura Inglesas y en Lengua y Literatura Francesas por la Universidad de Lausana. Oana sustituye en el puesto de Comunicaciones a Dwight Peck, quien se jubilará dentro de poco y permanecerá en Ramsar como Oficial de documentación a tiempo parcial, encargado de la edición y la maqueta de los documentos oficiales y las publicaciones de Ramsar, entre otras funciones.

Ramsar’s new Communications Officer

The Secretariat is looking forward to welcoming Ms Oana Penea as our new Communications Officer, as of 1 March. Oana comes to Ramsar after 3 years as Communication Officer, Publications and Information Unit at the Global Forum for Health Research in Geneva where, among other tasks, she was in charge of developing a more interactive Web site. She was responsible for reviewing all public information posted on the site and is familiar with Ramsar’s system of publishing electronic documents, working with translators, and writing for and coordinating the Web content. Oana’s earlier communications experience came from working with the Alliance of Mayors and Municipal Leaders on HIV/AIDS in Africa (AMICAALL, based in Geneva) and with UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services).

Oana is Romanian by birth, but has spent most of her life in Switzerland, with both Swiss and Romanian nationalities. She is bilingual in French and Romanian and has excellent English, having taken a Master of Arts in English language and literature and French language and literature at the University of Lausanne. Oana is replacing in the Communications post soon-to-be-semi-retired Dwight Peck, who will be staying on at Ramsar on a part-time basis as Documentation Officer, responsible for editing and layout of official documents and Ramsar publications, amongst other things.
