New staff members join Ramsar Regional Centre

Ali Aghili selected as Communication Officer
Ali received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Azad University in Tehran but he started his environmental career from 1996, and since then he has worked on different subjects and different national and international organizations, which among them are: Coordinator of IUCN\CEESP projects in Iran through their host organization (Cenesta) in Iran, Coordinator of WWF Caucasus through their host organization in Iran, Founder and director of several national NGOs, Deputy National Project Manager of the GEF\UNDP ‘Iranian Wetlands Conservation Project’ and national consultant to GEF\SGP at UNDP Tehran.
Atefeh Anbarsouz Selected as Technical Officer
Atefeh received a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Islamic Azad University in 1999.
Her work and experience with environmental issues began with taking a job as the office manager for an Environmental Education and Wetland/Marine Conservation oriented NGO (South Caspian Institution for Environmental Services “SIENSE”) more than 7 years ago. Through activities of that NGO, she became actively involved as an assistant to the project manager in variety of environmental projects related to UNDP, UNEP, GEF, The World Bank, Caspian Environment Programme, JICA, Field Studies Council of UK, Darwin Initiativeand similar organizations. Such activities provided opportunities for her to participate in many workshops, as well as and taking active part in planning, arranging and facilitation of many others.
She also was involved in establishing the “Ramsar Regional Center for Central and West Asia”, and further served as the Center’s administrative assistant from 2005 to 2007.
