Assistance sought for Malaysian Wetlands Foundation
(posted to the Ramsar Forum, 1 September 1998)
Dear Members of the Forum,
The Malaysian Wetlands Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation, which undertakes the Paya Indah Wetlands Sanctuary project in Selangor, Malaysia. The sanctuary portrays the nation's commitment to the wise use and conservation of wetlands and their resources for present and future generations. The patron of this foundation is the Prime Minister of Malaysia, His Excellency Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
One of our main objectives is to educate the public on the importance of wetlands. With that in mind, the Malaysian Wetlands Foundation Resource Centre was set up in March 1997 and it is currently expanding. Our resource centre collection currently numbers at 400 covering a wide range of topics ranging from nature to environmental with the objective of fulfilling our mission to conserve and preserve the environment, namely the wetlands, through education.
Therefore we would be very grateful if books, education kits, posters, journals, CD-ROMs, videos, and any other library materials which can assist us in our objective to educate the public on the importance of wetlands, could be sent to us at the address below:
