The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) presents its compliments to the Permanent Mission of ... and has the honour to refer to the following:

The Ramsar Secretariat is pleased to enclose a package of materials relating to the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention, to be held at the Changwon Exhibition Convention Center, Changwon, Republic of Korea, from 28 October to 4 November 2008. The package includes the following information:

1.   General information (including information on how to pre-register)
2.   Provisional Agenda
3.   List of COP10 documents
4.   Accommodation
5.   Travel to COP10
6.   Visas
7.   Side Events
8.   Exhibition space
9.   Mid-conference (free day) Excursions
10. Children’s picture exhibition

Concerning the composition of each Contracting Party delegation to Ramsar COP10, the Ramsar Secretariat respectfully urges Parties to finalise delegations and complete pre-registration formalities as soon as practicable. Contracting Parties are requested to designate a Head of Delegation and any additional members of the delegation.

The Secretariat hopes to raise sufficient financial contributions to be able to sponsor two delegates from each of the Parties eligible for such assistance, and would therefore be grateful if the names of the two delegates to be sponsored would be transmitted no later than 1st August. The two names should be prioritized so that, in case it should be possible to sponsor only one delegate from each eligible Party, the first of those names transmitted will be assumed to be the person to be sponsored.

The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands respectfully requests that the content of the present note be communicated to the competent national authorities and avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Permanent Mission of ... the assurance of its highest consideration.
