New Secretary General of the Convention
The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) presents its compliments to the Permanent Mission of ... and has the honour to refer to the following:
The Ramsar Secretariat is pleased to announce that Mr. Anada Tiéga of Niger took up his duties as Secretary General of the Convention on 1 August 2007.
A copy of Mr Tiéga's message carried on the Convention Web site and sent by electronic mail to Ramsar Convention Contracting Party focal points is attached for further information.
The Secretary General looks forward to working with the Ramsar Contracting Parties and to receiving the support of all regions towards the conservation and wise use of wetlands.
The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands respectfully requests that the content of the present note be communicated to the competent national authorities and avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Permanent Mission of ... the assurance of its highest consideration.
