Ramsar Convention Bureau - Vacancy announcement

The Bureau of the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) presents its compliments and has the honour to refer to the following:

The Ramsar Bureau regrets to announce that, for family and career reasons, Dr. Bill Phillips has resigned from his position as Deputy Secretary General of the Convention and will return to Australia at the end of January 2000. Consequently, the Convention Bureau is inviting applications for the position as per the attached announcement.

The Ramsar Bureau would be grateful if the Administrative Authority of the Convention in each Contracting Party could assist in publicizing this vacancy and in encouraging potential candidates with the required qualifications to apply, by the deadline of 31 August 1999.

The Bureau of the Convention on Wetlands respectfully requests that the content of the present Note be communicated to the competent national authorities and avails itself of this opportunity to renew the assurance of its highest consideration.
