V Pan-American Regional Meeting of the Convention on Wetlands
6-10 December 2011, Kingston, Jamaica





The V Pan-american meeting will be held in Kingston, Jamaica from 6-10 December 2011, hosted by the Ministry of Housing, Environment and Water and the National Environment and Planning Agency-NEPA.

The meeting will focus on the issues to be addressed by the 11th Conference of the Parties (COP11) to be held in Bucharest, Rumania, 6-13 July 2012. This will be an important opportunity to assess the progress made in the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2009-2015 of the Convention in the Americas and review experiences in the region regarding the achievements of the commitments agreed to by the Contracting Parties to the Convention during the last triennium. Finally priorities for action will be established for the 2012-2015 term. Further information about the meeting, e.g. programme and general information, will be provided to registered participants.

Important Date Change for COP11, 2012:

The 11th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention (Ramsar COP11) will be held in Bucharest, Romania, from 6 - 13 July 2012, with the 44th meeting of Standing Committee planned for 4 July 2012, and an additional day of regional meetings on 5 - 6 July, as requested by many Contracting Parties.
