There will also be an African Dialogue on wetlands governance and valuation of wetlands services. [PDF] The purpose is to promote good governance and enhance wetlands services in Africa through a regional consultation. This will also include a workshop for journalists.
Interview (French only, currently): 5 Questions for CONEDD Permanent Secretary, Mamadou Honadia, in preparation of the African meeting of the Ramsar Convention. Mamadou Honadia is an environmental engineer specializing in climate change. He is the operational focal point of the Fund for Global Environment , Permanent Secretary of the National Council for Environment and Sustainable Development. He is responsible, with forty employees, to ensure the integration of sustainable development principles into national policies ( sector ministries and local authorities ). To do this, we provide among other things , coordination of conventions for the generation of Rio including the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

The purpose of the registration form is to confirm your participation at the African Regional meeting for preparation of Ramsar COP11 which will take place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 3rd-8th October 2011; and to facilitate other logistics for the delegates.
