WWD in world’s Unique Ispani II mire International Kolkheti Ramsar Site Colchis (Kolkheti)

Celebrate WWD for 2010 year: “Caring for Wetlands an answer of Climate Change”. Society for Conservation of Wild Nature “Tchaobi” together with Kobuleti Protected Areas reported 2010 year’s February for wetlands month and compose an action plan which connected with theme. On February 2, there was made a conference according to the Ramsar Convention, with the theme “Wetlands biodiversity and climate changes”. In the conference took place the governmental and non-governmental organizations, the members of municipality of Kobuleti, decision makers, Department of Nature Protection of Ajara, local population students and pupils. There was made presentation and discussion around theme, also we reward with certificates “Junior Raingear.” The guests (more than 100) took place in the eco-tour, which was made International ramsar site of Kolkheti, in Ispani II mire world’s first unique percolation bog. We attended lecture for them in the end of the educational board walk of the Protected Area, which was about the importance of the unique biodiversity and Ramsar site. They got the booklets of Kobuleti Protected Areas.

Because of world's unique mire and so important Ramsar Site that is the reason why IMCG field Symposium and Scientific Congress was held 2009 in Koklheti and in 2010 Ramsar Standing meeting will be held in Kobuleti 26-29 of April.
