World Wetlands Day 2008 -- Venezuela
Venezuela, Los Roques Marine National Park
This year during the wetlands week we work with more than 200 kids from Los Roques basic school, together with teachers, community and Environmental Ministry. The expression for the wetlands day were thematic boards, costumes, theater plays, eco-games, mindmaps, stories and field trips. Presentations were made in every classroom to show the importance of a wetland in health, tourism, culture and fisheries. This National Park is a RAMSAR area and a very important zone for biodiversity; kids learned how to protect wetlands and its biodiversity, and how can they set the difference from now on in keeping it clean and healthy.
