World Wetlands Day in the USA, Puerto Rico
Cataño
Puerto Rico celebrated it's first big Wetland Day February 2nd, 2007. We received 576 kids from K-12, from different schools of Cataño's Municipality. Their Municipality is 5 miles approx. of which 2.6 are wetlands.
We had T-Shirts, posters and stickers with the Hoy, mañana y pasado mañana message. With us to celebrate the big day Environmental Protection Agency, USA Corps of Engineers, Department of Natural Resources, Club 4-H, and the San Juan Bay Estuary, and of course the Earth Balloon. After all it is International Wetlands Day.
We really had a great time and the kids learned in fun, interactive way. Please ENJOY the photos. Because they are quite heavy I am including only 1 per message. If you need them in a CD I can send them to you -just give me the complete address.
Thanks for all your help and support.
